Senior Harriers weekly update w/c 6th February

At a very wet South Park, Darlington Russ Adams was first finisher on the day from the 300 plus field despite a very sociable start finishing just ahead of Colin Taylor in 2nd in 17:23.Next home was Simon Rogers in 6th place in 18:26 three places ahead of Paul Cook in 18:53.David Aiken finished in 20:11 for 15th after a strong run ahead of Andy Dobson who finished 19th in 20:26, John Dunne 23rd in 20:47 a place and two seconds ahead of Sue Phillips with Dylan Wilson 28th in 21 minutes dead one place and ten seconds ahead of Graham Garvey.Ian Brown finished 38th in 21:56 three places ahead of Kevin Wilson in 22:03 with Barry Foster 44th in 22:10 and Pauline Brown 48th in 22:16.

Harry Wilson finished 52nd in 22:41 with Robert Austin 63rd in 23:10, Tom Leighton and Barry Talman separated by a second and place in 68th in 23:25.Justin Hindmarch finished 70th in 23:27, David Ralph 76th in 23:32 and Dom Colley 78th in 23:35.Paul Rossington finished 84th in 23:46 a place ahead of Stephen Gardner in 23:58, Jane Teague 92nd in 24:18 one place and seven seconds ahead of Vivianne Pow and Jonathan Boyle 97th in 24:46.James Gardner finished 123rd in 26:14, John Brant 135th in 26:40, Alex Bos 139th in 26:48 alongside Brian Burdon a place and a second behind who was one place and one second ahead of Dave Hamer.

Gerda Arts finished 144th in 27:00 and Richard Bowes 152nd in 27:30.Kate Bower finished 167th in 28:10 for a new personal best with Rachel Maddison 218th in 31:35 just ahead of Lisa Smedley 219th in 31:52.Andy Campbell-Critchley having a social run finished 243rd with Amanda Garvey Kovac finishing under the 40 min barrier since her operation in 39:38 for 283rd.

Over at Sedgefield amongst 217runners Jade Hutchinson was first home in 21:56 with David Tomlinson a place and second behind, Simon Daniels 31st in 22:58 for a new personal best of 22:58 with Andy Williamson 33rd also in a new personal best of 23:09.Peter Armstrong finished 63rd in 24:54 with Barry Bell two places and two seconds behind on his first visit.Next back was Sarah Tomlinson in 80th in 25:59, Anne Hutchinson, Neil Embleton and Iain Girard taking up positions 110 to 112 in 27:46 two seconds splitting the trio ahead of Julian Pinkney 115th in 28:02, Maria Daniels 119th in a new personal best of 28:21 with Anneli MacKenzie Brown, Aly Williamson and Tai Charlton 128th to 130th in 28:52 again two seconds splitting the trio.Emma Ivey and Laura Girard finished together in 20rd and 204th with Rachel Girard 216th in 48:19 on her first visit.Darren Stockdale was the sole Harrier at Tees Barrage finishing 9th from 136 runners in 20:51.Over at Albert Park Gabby Hall was 42nd finisher from the 301 runners in an excellent 20:48 with grandfather John 58th in another good time of 21:49. Meanwhile in Durham, amongst 244 runners Andrew Glencross finished 39th in 22:52 .

Kim Reevetook on the Hardmoors half marathon on Sunday morning over in Saltburn whilst Peter Foulds took on the full marathon.Kim finished 4th lady on the day with Peter finishing 42nd from a field of nearly 200, both running in very poor conditions.Character building I think it’s called!Outstanding both of you, these races require a mental toughness that clearly you both have in abundance so well done!

Danielle Clark took on the Liversedge half marathon, a tough race in good conditions never mind poor conditions that we have seen over the weekend.Official times have yet to be announced however reports suggest Danielle finished around 2 hrs. 10.Well done Danielle.

Down in Ripon a small number of Harriers were in action at the Muddy Boots 10k race, a race which when water fall is seen on the course leading up to the event, it turns into just that…muddy boots.

It just happened to be one of those weekends, but despite the wet course, Paul Kelly battled his way through and was first home for the club finishing 75th in 47:52. Tom Addison making his debut for the club was next home in 52:08 with Alex Bos 191st in 54:23.

Laura Clarke was next home in 269th place in 59:58 followed by Gerda Arts who was 278th in 1:00:25 and Julian Pinkney back in action finishing 405th in 1:18:55.Well done all of you, very tough course to run.

Another race taking placethis weekend was the Absent Friends 5 mile trail race.

In a race where no times or finishing positions were added to results, Jade Hutchinson was first to finish in 25th place overall and third female (a bit of manual counting required). Vivianne Pow finished 66th afteranother excellent run and in 93rd place was Brian Burdon. Anne Hutchinson was next home in 95th with Ian Barnes two places back in 97th.

Nine places behind the club legend in 106th was Andrea Reese with new member Penny Skilton making her debut in 113th.Running together, and covering places 126th to 128th were Penny Ivison, Leigh Hindle and Emma Ivey.

Well done all runners, not the best of conditions.
